This course is designed to improve your ability effectively inspect properties, record defects and identify health and safety issues which may need action.
This course covers common defects and how to identify them. It also looks at deleterious materials and internal and external hazards.
During the course you will have the opportunity to do practical work on inspections. This course also looks at issues relating to contractors working on site and snagging inspections.
This course is designed for non-technical staff who carry out inspections of void and tenanted properties. Ideally, they should have some knowledge of building construction and have attended Inspecting a Property 1, or have some experience of undertaking inspections.
Common defects - examples of frequently found defects to buildings and building services
Deleterious materials: asbestos, lead, etc.
Report formats: schedules of condition, survey reports, defect reports
