Health and Safety for Repairs Staff
Aims:
The construction industry has a high level of accidents compared with other industries.
This course is designed to give staff working in housing repairs and maintenance a good overview of the legislation and regulations.
By the end of this course participants should understand the roles and responsibilities of resident, staff and contractor. They should be able to identify hazards and take appropriate action.
Designed for:
- Housing staff who deal with queries from residents.
- Housing officers and estate staff who visit properties.
- Staff who are interested in acquiring knowledge in this area to move into a more technical role.

- An overview of health and safety within buildings, including: gas, electric and water testing, legionella and asbestos regulations
- An overview of health and safety issues during building works, including: CDM, scaffolding, working at height regulations- Recognizing hazards and applying the legislation
