To ensure the smooth operation of any organisation, it is essential that contractor relationships are managed and monitored in the right way and that the contracts are properly administered. Poor planning and management will increase costs and cause delays and/or disruption of services, as well as increase the likelihood of accidents or ill health.
Work undertaken by contractors is one of the riskiest areas for the client, who is likely to be able to exert less control over their work than that of their own employees. Our course addresses the key issues, including how to select and appoint contractors, set and monitor performance targets and ensure that work is conducted safely.
Our course teaches how best to manage contractor performance, cooperate and communicate effectively with contractors and deal with performance issues, whilst maintaining a managerial position with sufficient authority and competence.
Candidates also learn the basics of contract monitoring and the requirements that a contract places on the contractor, as well as performance measures.
Our course is designed to give you a good understanding of common contracts and introduce the principles of contract administration and monitoring contractors.
