Measuring and producing building drawings and plans training course overview
You cannot manage what you do not measure. A basic understanding of how drawings are measured and produced is important in achieving a successful project outcome.
Many delegates on our courses have poor measuring skills and lack the confidence to prepare and interpret measured drawings and plans.
Understanding drawings is central to communicating the design of a project. The key to interpreting them is understanding the purpose of a specific drawing and its relationship to the specifications prepared for a project.
Our course offers a good introduction to measuring and drawing plans and teaches candidates how to accurately interpret them. It gives them the skills to prepare plans and deal with cost estimates and tender documents.
What the course covers
Who should attend
Our course is designed for non-technical staff and junior technical staff who need to be able to measure buildings and building elements. It is suitable for staff who need to be able to produce accurate specifications for works, such as adaptations or minor repairs and alterations, and for people who need to be able to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
Upkeep’s courses involve so much more than straightforward classroom teaching.
Our interactive training programmes use real items on display at our London headquarters – an extensive collection of models and practical examples that aid learning. Time and again, candidates say use of the display helps aid their understanding of what makes a building work and how its systems operate.
If you can’t make it to our offices, we can come to you with a bespoke training package tailored to meet your needs and those of your organisation.
