Domestic electrical and heating installations training course 1 overview

The first of two courses, domestic electrical and heating installations level 1 is the ideal introduction to domestic electrical and heating systems.

Our course teaches how to identify the main components of domestic electrical installations.

Candidates will learn how to diagnose simple electrical defects, carry out basic safety checks and recognise the main types of domestic heating systems and their controls and components.

The course covers the relevant health and safety requirements in relation to heating control systems and the relevant regulations. It discusses the different types of heating systems and the control devices used to operate and control them. A good insight into wiring and heating controls will be gained, allowing the candidate to make assessments of systems and their suitability within a domestic setting.

After taking this course, you will understand the key terminology used and learn about the common problems that occur and their fixes. It will give you a solid foundation of electrical systems with the knowledge and insight you require to better serve your customers.

The programme can be taken as a standalone course or as one module towards the Upkeep/ABBE Certificate in Diagnosing Defects and Ordering Repairs.
