Speaker profiles: Sustainable Facilities Management: The National Trust Liz Adams After years working in a variety of customer service roles, Liz joined the Property Services Department at Nationwide Building Society in 2000, developing a special interest in sustainable FM practices. She became Facilities Manager for Heelis, the new central office for The National Trust in early 2005, joining the project team to mobilise the building and make it home to 430 staff. Since then occupancy has grown to nearly 500 and the building has become a true National Trust property in its own right, receiving approximately 10,000 visitors a year. As a reflection of this, Liz's role has also evolved as the Property Manager with a team of 25 property staff working together to deliver a high class service to NT staff and visitors alike. The National Trust is the leading conservation body in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Formed in 1895, it now has 3.5 million members and is one of the most property-rich organisations in Europe.
